Malcolm L. Cothran, M.D. has practiced in Lexington for twenty-five years.  He is a graduate of Medical University of South Carolina, finished two years of Pediatric Residency at Vanderbilt University and completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has special interest in management of hyperlipidemia.

Karen A. Lyons, M.D. completed Internal Medicine Residency at University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham in 1985 and has practiced in Lexington since that time.  She is a graduate of University of Maryland Medical School and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She is an Instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and has a special interest in women's health issues.
Laura E. Post, M.D. joined us in 1999 from Norfolk where she served for three years as Assistant Professor and Medical Director of the Lynnhaven Office of Eastern Virginia Medical School.  She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine.  She completed her postgraduate training at Portsmouth Naval Hospital (internship) and Medical University of South Carolina (residency) and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Mary Winston, R.N., N.P. is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner.  She is a graduate of the School of Nursing at University of Virginia and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing and the Nurse Practitioner Program at University of Virginia in 1986.  She has worked with several other medical practices prior to joining Lexington Internists in 1991. 
William Sayre, M.D. begins practice with us October 2, 2000.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center last year and is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1996.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and lives in Lexington with his wife and two children.
